Ive used em all, do shit in exs, do it on an akai sampler, do it on ultrabeat, on fruity loops, on an asr-10, on the fantom, triton, lindrum plug thing, kontakt, probably a lot more. one's novelty (record some basic ideas if you have nothing at your disposal, transfer later) and one is capable of making a lot of ****ing beats that you're hearing on the radio right now. The 500 versus a 1000 equipped with the JJ OS v1 or 2 are not even the same TYPE of machines. JMHOopinions are great and all, im all for em, but at least know wtf you're talking about (somewhat). If this is for studio work I would suggest the 2000xl if the 3 and 4k are more than your budget. those are consumer level products in my opinion.
